Rip ! a Remix Manifesto
In Rip! a Remix Manifesto, the authors opinion is that the copyright laws are wrong. He shows a very biased opinion on the dispute between major copyright corporations and the every day computer user the film shows how easy it is to use other people work and how, the laws prevent you from building upon and changing other people work or art.
The author is very biased, he favors the artist side, he uses appeal to authority like Girl Talk shows several ways the copyright laws prevent him from making his music. The author thinks that the past should not control the future. that you should be able to build upon and use other people work. He also uses the anecdote of the pastures family having a lawsuit against them just for downloading music. this shows that the copyright has to much control and that art should be free to us. He is biased by the fact that he does not let these major labels have a say or input.
I agree with the filmmaker/author, these corporations should not have this amount of power. I think that copyright should be taken away and that people should have freedom to making and building upon others ideas. These labels should not control our future.
